    TSI sqeek

    1.4 TSI Supercharger Chirp

There is now a modified supercharger clutch for this concern. This has been tested this on a number of vehicles and this has rectified the concern. Please see the attached TPI. This should also now be able to be seen in ElsaPro.*

This noise occurs only once and only when accelerating to about 3000 rpm.

To identify the noise use the attached sound file.

    Technical background

As the water pump builds up with solenoid clutch, the one-piece anchorage plate on the outer pulley starts

to vibrate. The volume of the noise depends on the operating conditions.

    Production change

Water pump with solenoid coupling from Engine No. CAV 154 174 in week 48/09 and CDG 010825 in

week 49/09 (TSI CNG) in Chemnitzengine plant.

    Measure

If the complaint cannot be reproduced in stationary, perform the following test drive:

TSI twin charger with engine codes BMY, BLG, BWK, CAVA, CAVD:

Use part 03C.121.004.L or the new production part according to the parts catalogue.

TSI CNG with engine code CDGA:

Use part 03C.121.004.M or the new production part according to the parts catalogue.

For further fault finding check in the self-diagnosis of the engine control unit in measured value

block 236, display field 4, the condition of the solenoid valve (on/off).

^ so some of the S/C are squeaking?

is it something that occurs over time as the car racks up a certain amount of km's?

i personally have not noticed a "squeak" as such but i have noticed that, at times, it feels as though the S/C isn't producing any boost. I have had the 24M3 upgrade but in the last few months the issue has intermittently occurred. hard to replicate and don't know what causes it. cars due for service in the next month so hopefully something shows up.

and before i get flamed for not taking the car in earlier. i've hardly driven it in the last few months due to working interstate

btw, there was no sound file attached to your post
