    Fair point although BMW reliability and servicing is a problem, plus the Z4 is plain ugly. Only one worth considering is 335i if you must have a beema, but Mercedes SLK is a good alternative and has better reliability. But I can see why the fan boys like the 86. As all thefan boys here do their VWs

    Sorry crank - different story. However the twins loose a heap in drive train loss as they struggle to crack 100kW atw with intake and exhaust (no tune). However at the wheels figures are unfortunately what matter in this case because of you stated point about driving feel and dynamics. If the power isn't getting to the wheels then how could you judge in which manner the dynamics have changed??

    It's the torque curve that I would like to improve (with a supercharger), not necessarily peak hp.

    Very true. Tenko didn't mention what torque figures they were seeing, does anyone know?

    The HKS Kit has a massive dip in the torque curve, it isn't smooth at all :|
    I believe they have other issues as the compression is quite high which could lead to detonation and it's harder to get big power from FI with a compression of 10.5:1.



    GT Supercharger kit: 236.8ps/6300rpm and 27.0kgf・m/5600-6600rpm

    Normal: 184.7ps/6800rpm and 20.3kgf・m/4700rpm

    Note, torque is the top lines.

    Hmmm interesting. Plus the article on the Tenko turbo 86 says they run 12:1 CR (stock unopened engine not 10:5.1) on 12psi with no dramas.

    They are losing 30%?

    That's about what my AWD Liberty was losing. It must be a very ineffecient drivetrain.

    They say these FA engines, are the tits are far superior engine to the EJ.

    Many are already spewing out big numbers, a d quick 1/4's on the stock gearbox.

    There's a couple even getting around in Sydney..
