    2012+ Polo DSG Problems

So after reading that 2008-2011 models with the DSG are being recalled it got me wondering why the 2012 and up models aren't getting done.

So my question is are there any members on here who have had issues with their 2012+ build Polo's? Any clutch packs crapping themselves or Mechatronics units dying?

My MY12.5 was built in November 2011, so i'm also interested as to why the odd dates around the recall.

I havent had any issues (other than the usual complaints about first gear stuttering etc) with my gearbox, and i use it pretty hard

I will definitely raise it with my local dealer, though.

It looks like this is the ONLY issue they are recalling:
"In isolated cases, an electronic malfunction in the control unit inside the gearbox mechatronics may result in a power interruption. Other important vehicle systems, such as steering and braking, along with other relevant systems, will continue to be fully functional. If, in rare cases, the car loses power while driving, the driver can remain in control to safely manoeuvre the car to a stop."

    See details in link: http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/it...0recall%20.pdf

Got loud clunking between gearshifts 1 to 5 (probably last two gears too but cannot hear), and jerkyness at times from standstill. Otherwise 10 months in, 26,600kms later still original. I'll keep touching wood

I've got a MY12.5 77TSI and my DSG has so far been excellent (11,300KMS). The only time it plays up is after I have been driving in stop/start traffic conditions for about an hour and then it begins to start shuddering every single time I accelerate and the longer I keep driving after that, the worse the shudder gets. I've got it booked in for a service regarding the issue in a few weeks.

I have noticed a lot of polo Gtis for sale with less than 10,000 km and some are less than a year old. I assume they are plagued with problems and their values will be smashed. So much for those long wait times not that long ago

Yes, look at the bright side; many will be able to buy them for less and those who swap the cars from the boredom will have to fork out more to have a new ride every 2-3 years.

I still get the idea that you think some people who say the have problems must be dreaming ....

What you mean to say that people who have to sell there cars because they are crap are losing out...
