    Top Gear USA

Just watched Top Gear USA, pretty sad watching TV on a Saturday night, but the Aussie version ( and we all know how it ended up) made me want to vomit.

For the US version, what's worse than vomiting?

the trifecta - barfing, peeing and plopping your pants, all at the same time.

i thought the US version was its own shown in its own right, and at least interesting enough as a stand alone package. it helps that they have tanner foust in there as well, just for that extra driver cred.

i've been watching all first season and much of 2nd season on youtube, but i wish they'd do more car reviews... each episode seems to turn out to be some sort of epic race / challenge, just like on the top gear special dvd's. gets a bit boring.

I like Top Gear USA. I think they need to either get rid of, or do something with, the Celeb challenge segment, but apart from that, it's a great show.

It stands on its own, separate to the UK version. Whereas the Australian one was just embarrasing in how it tried to emulate the UK one.

Tanner Foust is an awesome driver. Awesome at stunts, drifting, AND racing. Rutledge Wood is hilarious and quirky and often unpredictable. Adam Ferrara is amusing in his patriotism and ability to destroy cars. Can't wait for the season to start again.

??? same intro, same theme music, same format, same celeb segment, same test driver(Stig). To me, it seems like it too, is trying to emulate the UK version, its even called "Top Gear".

Sure... it's a top gear franchise.... if it were called something else then it wouldn't be Top Gear USA
But I'd hardly call it the same format. Watch more than 2 episodes and get back to us.

In the existing Top Gear thread (already in this forum), the feedback is generally good. Some weeks people have liked Top Gear USA more than Top Gear UK.

“Watch 2 more episodes”, thanks but no thanks.

OK, same intro, same theme music, different format, same celeb segment, same test driver (Stig). More same than not.

Happy that you like it, but vomiting and diarrhea is not for me.

    I agree with Corey.
Sure it isn't as good as the UK series (which is now up to Season 18 out at Christmas!) but it does enough to pass the weeks before the next season of UK comes out.

Plus you actually recognise a lot more of the cars from the older car challenges.
