The US episodes have been getting better and better, was really interesting to see the stock car vs super car part.

Haven't seen the first half of the UK special, was going to wait until i had both halves.

It's a great episode. I'm definitely looking forward to the conclusion, but it's not like part 1 doesn't stand up on its own as a good piece of entertainment.

Fifth Gear compared the Mk6 GTI against the 265 Megane, Astra VXR, and Focus ST

I'm not a fan of their knockout format since you don't get to see all cars perform in all the challenges. The GTI was kocked out first in the agility challenge (even though the Astra didn't have a handbrake). Only mildly disappointed since the Mk6 GTI is by far the oldest car there.

And so Season 21 of UK Top Gear starts after not airing the usual Xmas special.
Looks to be a good episode and a good season too, will be watching ep 1 tonight after work.

    That was dire.

It was like the producers just grabbed a big bag labelled "Top Gear Cliches" and just picked out 15 at random and then tried to string them together.

Not to mention the trip to Chernobyl... I always maintain Top Gear is less about the cars and more about cheesy comedy with the cars as props...

The people who film the thing do know how to use a camera though...
