Thule (or other brand) bike carriers on VW OEM racks?

Hey all.
Was wondering if anyone has had success with a non-vw brand bike carrier attached to the VW OEM roof racks? I'm looking at the Thule ProRide carrier at the moment but can't find info on whether it can lock to the bars. The OEM bars seem to have a similar T-shaper groove to the Thule bars so I'm hoping they can fit securely. Also hoping someone has done this and can confirm or deny.

Also, by "had success" I mean was able to mate these two products in a way which isn't easy to pull the carriers of the bars. I understand nothing is foolproof, but other options have a simple rubber strap that secures the carrier to the bars, and I expect this to be easily cut in seconds. (on second thought, that's probably better than someone yanking secure racks off the car… &#129300

Have no problem fitting my thule carriers to both style of mk4 bars.
My mk3 has older square bar thule racks but thule sell a kit to convert the carrier
