I know I am somewhat paranoid about parking my car in certain parking spots because I'm concerned about stuff like this. Why people don't have the common decency to leave a note is beyond me, especially if it's clearly not a danga they hit (not that that is an excuse).

If your really concerned about cost you can always pay for it yourself on the cheap and hope for the best. If of course your going through your insurance I'd only be using genuine parts.

Thanks Aaron. Fortunately they didn't touch the VWW stickers which are now on the front and back windscreens. I was going to put up a pic but couldn't work out how to do it. I'm probably not going to go through insurance now. I'll just get the best price I can on the parts and take it off to the panel beater which I visit far too often.

I don't know, but if anything goes wrong, i'm sure they have an app for it.

This just opens up a whole new market for insurance apps now lol.

If it's not an Android app, I'm not interested.

    mac>pc.

mac's were so effing crap. they were overpriced, hyped up ooh-look-at-that-pretentious-wanker-with-his-poser-mac-laptop pieces of plop.

then, something interesting happened..... i shut up, and bought a macbook pro.

now, i understand why mac users, stay mac users........

but yeah..... you cant expect decency these days- can you imagine what it's going to be like in 10 years time, when i-gen (you know, the teens thesedays who seem to see no moral dilemma in getting together with 10 of their mates to bash old women in the street, to set on fire and then urinate on mentally challenged little girls.... the proud australians of tomorrow) is out on the roads in full force with kids and loads of shopping and all that? expect to see more shopping trolleys in the side of your dub sometime soon.......

So I have taken my car to a smash repair shop and got a quote of 460 to fix the mirror. Compared to over 600 just for the parts from VW, it seems a pretty fair deal. And yes they use genuine parts and I also know that this useless VW dealer (cough cough Austral) use this repairer to do their work. I'm not one to promote, but I've used these guys 3 times now, and they always do a brilliant job and have come in cheaper than AAMI recommended repairers. Considering there are always audi R8s and porsches sitting in the yard, I'm confident they know what they're doing. So once again thank you Shipstone at Windsor.

And I don't know how we got onto Macs, but I own a Mac and they ****e all over PC's. I'm also about to get a new smart phone, but won't be touching the iphone with a 10 foot pole. It'll be a Samsung Galaxy S on Android for me thanks...
