steering wheel turning left when braking by itself

so got my new car, secondhand.

and the only problem at the moment is when I'm braking at to the lights. at the end the steering wheel turns to the left...mmm. why? god why?

diagnose this problem for me.


1. airlock in brakes?
2. seized caliper?
3. wheel alignment?

And what car is it?

Sounds like your left caliper is sticking a fraction of a second as you back off the brake pedal compared to the right caliper.

Might be simply fixed by removing the brake pads and giving the caliper a clean with a brush.

Depending on what car it is, I am thinking it has a worn out rear LCA bush on that side. allowing the wheel to move back in the arch as it stops.

Could also be a stuck float pin causing the pad to bind on one side of the disc — I had that happen to a 3 litre Cressida. Symptom was the same.
