    Stamp Duty

So i've just paid for my new skirts and valance coming from Germany through oemplus.com..

Now i'm just wondering; my dad said something about paying Stamp Duty for importing parts, can anyone shed any light on this topic?

    Cheers

Mate, how much are your parts costing you including shipping? if it's less than $1000 (AU) you won't have to pay duties. If it's more than that, then let me know the figures and I'll work it out for you, or pm me if you like and I can show you how figures on my body kit worked out, then you can plug your own numbers in.

    Cheers,

    Snowy.

if the value is over A$1000 then assume you will need to pay import duty (10%), GST (10%) plus a customs agency fee of around $50

The GSt is compunded on top of the duty, so assume an overall extra of around 25% to give you a total home-delivered cost

Mate for a full kit you're looking at upward of $900 shipping for a couple of valences + side skirts, depending on the size of course. That would also include Customs Brokerage fees and insurance. There's no weight in them but they calculate the cost using "Volumetric Weight", so it mainly becomes an issue of how much space it's going to take up combined with the actual weight.

The killer with body kits is always the shipping component.
