Staggered wheels on MK7 Golf TDI? Opinions?

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a new set of wheels to make the car look a bit aggressive. So the front wheels are 8J x 18 and the rear wheels are 9J x 18. All 4 tires are 225 40 ZR 18 92Y according to the requirements on the fuel cap. Apparently, the back tires are stretched and the diametre is smaller than that at the front.
Here comes the question:
Is staggered wheels suitable for MK7 Golf TDI or it may affect something like handling (cornering), ABS system, stability or tire pressure monitors?

PS: How about 8.5J X 19 for both fronts and rears?

Any opinions or suggestions will be helpful. Thanks

The difference in the over all diameter will be minimal and negligible from the different width wheels.
It'll be fine. Wider wheels on the back of FWD car is pointless though, Only good for looks really

Yea, I just wanna make it look good for now but I prefer bag it. Staggered wheels are more suitable for RWD cars. Because MK7 is DBW and that's why I was thinking if it will affect the ABS system and handling later on. Thanks Dylan.

If youre running the same size tyre on all four corners I cant imagine having wider rear wheels will throw off any of the computer stuff too much. Should be fine

Ok. Thanks for the opinion, Ben. All 4 tires are the same size (225 40 R18 92Y). So far, I can't feel any difference around corners. I had a look under the car and it has got plenty room just from looking. Also, What if I lower the car about 40mm, is 18X9J all right at the back? Cheers

Question is: Are 9 inch rims legal?

Whats the widest rim listed on your tyre placard? I think you can only go 1 inch up on that.

That tyre size has a recommended rim width of 8 inches.... MAX is 9 inches.

Different brands/models suggest different sizes. A lot of 225/40 will happily go on 9s though.

225 45 R17
225 40 R18
225 35 R19

I still have my factory wheels and tires anyway.
as long as it's not touching anything, it's fine for me.

you can stretch the tires too and 225 on 9 inch wide wheel is just perfect because 225mm is approximately 8.9 inch in correspondence.
