Transporter is old, they've been using them in VIC for ages.
Not with the tradesman pipe though, but when was the last time you saw a tradesman driving a VW Transporter that looks in mint condition? lol.
Well the latest undercover covert police vehicles are exposed , I love the Transporter equipped with tradesmans pipe on the roof no less , and here in Qld a family camouflaged Hyundai . There was also a photo of a Golf but they have been around a while anyway . Drive carefully guys and have a happy new year .

If it has dark tint and is parked on the side of the road- regardless of what it is, I consider it suss and check speed accordingly.

where do the drivers hang out, are they laying low in passenger seat or are they spirited away for a coffee in another car.
Thought I had been caught by a VW Caddy van one day so drove around the corner and walked back . Was no one in it so camera must just work automatically.
Wait till the adopt the US version of speed traps Lines painted on the road about half a mile apart. Cessna flying low behind you timing you. Bingo gotcha and you wont even know.
That will give the whinger on Facebook something to moan about.
I remember about 40 years ago in NZ Car that gave the most tickets was an old beat up Austin 1800 with a hat, kids toys and a fishing rod on the rear parcel shelf, Used to trundle up and down the motorways in Wellington catching heaps of unsuspecting speeders.

We have point to point cameras in QLD already, a lot cheaper to run than a Cessna, and work 24/7.
Camera on a post and about 14km later another camera on a post.
Rego is scanned and if the time equates to an average speed higher than that posted = Busted.
Too fast on the 1st or 2nd camera = Busted also.

Thought they were only for trucks.
The ones we saw in the US were well out in the sticks so is probably cheaper to patrol by plane rather than run connections for cameras.

Lines painted on the road were in use in VIC for years, there was a pair in Belmore Rd near me — used to see the police helicopter hovering over them periodically.
Even sneakier camera technology has superseded them and lines are no longer needed.
I think Victoria was also first with point-to-point cameras ((Hume Freeway) with which they had trouble that's only recently been sorted.))
