Most small vw's could be considered cars for pansies, if you're into big shouty grotesque asthmatic aussie/yank muscle.
But i even reckon a new beetle, eos etc are a bit paffy... but it doesn't matter. If you like your car who cares?!
My mk2 gets some confused looks from bogans in their SS utes. I slaughter them off the line, slaughter them down the road and then they wait back at the next lights coz they are too embarassed to look at you hehe. "who's the fag now?"

    LMAO

Just because you beat a bogan who doesn't know any better doesn't make your car any less girly.

Slam it, boost it, stance it and it wont be so gay.

P.S. Starting to get a bit annoyed at all these threads "I drive a VW so im better than everyone" and "Commodore drivers are bogans and im awsome" by people who have trouble changing a tire.

You all must live in crap areas.

Here GTIs/R32s/Rs are a dime a dozen and aren't even looked at. When you have about 4 Aston Martins, a Jag XK150 and a Xk120, GT3's and an R8 in 500m of your house you tend to blend into the background a bit.

When I go back home to the Central Coast it is a different story. Same when I had the S3.

Isn't that what Volkswagen Assist is for?

How do I change a tire? Please post pics.

I can see where you are coming from.

A VW, while some are good cars, is hardly an amazing status symbol that instantly means that mere mortals have to bow down to how amazing you are.

A Lotus Exige? Respect. A TVR? Respect. Morgan Plus 8? Respect. AMG Merc? Respect.

A Mk 3 VR6. Decent enough car, but it hardly means that you are kind of the road.

+1. It's your car so if others don't appreciate the sophistication, especially in a compact package, then bugger 'em (off to buy another cravat, now).

FFS, don't get this thread locked up.

I bought a small car, because I'm a rather small....
If I was Hulk Hogan I would have chosen a large car.

That's all there is to it haha.

    haha.

When I had my mk1 golf, girls would always comment on how cute it looked. Wasnt sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing haha. Those were college days and I did have a few guys ask me why I have a vw and not a V* whatever comodore haha.

Still though, Im 25 now, working as mechanic at a small dealership and to be honest the only people at work who get the vw thing are the oldtimers or the mature lads. All the young apprentices arent interested in vw or classic cars for that matter. They drive around in their XR8's and utes.
Its the old timers who enjoy looking under the bonnet of the passat and getting excited about the twin carbs, compared to thier young work mates asking "what are they"
