Don't. The Melbourne GP is a MUCH BETTER weekend than Silverstone.
So the mates i go to Melbourne with each year for the F1 are talking about stepping things up a bit next year; not going to Melbourne but instead taking 3 weekish in UK/Europe. The plan at this stage (if dates are similar next year) are spend 1.5 weeks in UK going to both Goodwood Festival of Speed and the British GP at Silverstone. Then head over to Europe, go to a stage of the TDF and then off to all the German stuff you have to see.
Keen on peoples advice or experiences on going to either:
* Silverstone F1 GP
* Goodwood FoS
* Tour de France
The plan will be to camp at the Grand Prix and possibly in Europe at some places too.
So does anyone have hot tips?

I would be more inclined to see the Monaco GP and go to Worthersee/Nubrugring 24 hour.
are you for real????
Silverstone is a great place to watch the F1 and other races.
Melbourne is an easier track to get to due to it being in the city, the drive into sliverstone is the road to hell!
top tips,
Nurburgring FTW!
also try and check out if any Berg Cup events are on (well worth seeing)
Check out some uk shows (GTI International, or BVF)
depends on how long you are about for and where you are starting/ending to
Yes I am for real. Been to many a F1, British, Spanish, Hungarian and Italian included. The Australian GP wins hands down afaik. MUCH better atmosphere than the other. The Spanish GP came close.
