When I was looking at the Octy, I half considered getting an SV6 sedan and whacking a couple of aerials on the boot.

I'm really interested to see what the VF cop cars look like!!

I quite like it, and now so many bogans have moved to euros and SUVs it takes the pressure off the commodores image a little (and P platers can no longer drive V8s). I quite like Aussie cars when in their sports luxury guise, like the first VE Senator, G6E Turbo etc, a mate had a nice Calais V International v8, just when they getting heinously modified is when I lose interest.

Well a VF SSV Sportswagon is on my radar... nearly bought one last time, but the interior of the V6 Passat won me over... if the interior is nice enough ... I have had everything bar a V8 (rotaries and turbos etc), and six litres might just get that out of my system...

(not saying it is better than VW or anything... but at least I am on topic )

    New commodore looks awesome

I test drove the VE and hated the interior. From the photos, the new VF interior looks a match for any Euro. I dont ike the angle surface where the conterol knobs are, but the interior and most importantly the dash looks very classy.

I like the standard features that are available across the range for the price theybcharge. Finally! Competition has improved the breed after years of neglect of the australian public.

The only thing stopping me selling and buying one is size, but i plan on going for a test drive and who knows? Calais in particular is waaay better equipped than my F30 328i. Seems like it will be way quieter too.

    Thoughts on the new commodore?

Looks like they put it in the microwave and it melted.

If you want a decent amount of power cheaply then it's a good idea but you take a massive depreciation hit and what use is all that power when a 2.0T/1.8T 4 cyl will get you anywhere you want to go quick enough?

All models have got pretty good reviews so far can't argue with the SS manual at 40g or so. I'm going to wait a year and see how much 2nd hand ones are going for or what deals can be had.

There is something about 8 cylinders putting 530 nm to the rear wheels through a manual gearbox that is satisfying
