SD card error

I've got a ton of SD cards none of them work, but found an old 1GB card and that worked. I'm thinking it's related to the size. Have tried formatting the larger cards with Fat16, 32 etc

All cards should work if correctly formatted in Fat32 default cluster size. Macs dont do them properly from what I have read

I use a Mac - haven’t had an issue with card formatting when updating my VW system
