    Heat transfer works in one of three ways: conduction, convection or radiation.

    The heat from the sun reaches us by (mostly) infrared radiation.

    I knew that. Preeny might have forgotten. That's why thermoses are silvered to cut down radiation losses.

    It's actually a thin layer of aluminium on glass. The same as a mirror.
