There is 150 million kms of vacuum between the earth and sun. Beats the hell out of 1 cm in the thermos. But the heat gets here.

I knew that. Preeny might have forgotten. That's why thermoses are silvered to cut down radiation losses.

It's actually a thin layer of aluminium on glass. The same as a mirror.
