I lost my father very young as well (42). He never had the opportunity to follow his dream, but has always been an inspiration to me. Something that now I have got beyond that age I try to instill into my kids.
Funnily, I always wanted to be a nuclear physicist, but the world transpired differently - our youngest son has had his dream since he was seven, and I am inspired just by the fact he is on his way to acieviing it.
As for the I am always inspired by all my kids when they talk of things I know nothing about, because it means there is always something else to learn.
