    Safety Camera Whinge

Just have to vent a little.

Was driving along City Road in South Melbourne tonight. Light turns orange, I hit the brakes and start pulling up. Then I notice the guy behind me is going to rear end me, so I hit the gas and enter the intersection. The light is still orange. I don't get up to the speed limit. The light changes when I'm in mid intersection. There's a flash from somewhere.

I'm hoping that the flash wasn't for me, but I don't see who else could've triggered it.

It's nice when you have to choose between having an accident or a fine and demerits.

I did the exactly the same thing last week (combined speed/red light camera). Now patiently awaiting the fine in the mail so that I can contest it, hopefully it shows the car behind hard on the anchors

Whilst the cameras in Qld will not detect a car going through an orange light, a police office can do his/her bit to assist the government's revenue by issuing a fine. You probably guessed, I was on the receiving end of such a fine

The only person in Qld I've heard of getting that, qlders are shock in for running reds. I've seen a copper have to slow to let a car through a red when he was on the green cycle, he just shrugged...

I went through an ORANGE light not a red one
