reset airbag light/ vagcom?

Hi im new to this forum however my love affair with vws has been going some time I am trying to find out a bit about the vagcom etc I own a gti mk4 and a T4 transporter where is the best place to buy the cable. ? ebay? ive got some issues with trying to reset an airbag light or to diagnose the problem in the system. It seems the vagcom hooked to my laptop will help? any ideas thanks in advance mont

I think you got the low down on where to get a lead.

A proper diagnosis will make it much easier to fix. Might just need the code deleting but could also be a hard fault. Far better to scan it and work of the results of that. Youy could chase around for ages and not get a result.
