Seems that VW will drop the Beetle from our shores , I wonder if they are victims of their own doing . The emissions scandal has had a dramatic effect on resale values and with so many models it would be hard to move sales volumes to make it worthwhile . And then there is always the issue of which models will sell , I could never understand why Australia never got a Sirroco until recently . I remember when my wife and I were in England in 1984 we stayed at a hotel where they were having a showing of the new upgraded Sirroco model then and I commented that it would be a good seller here , trouble was it took nearly 30 years before it came here . The beetle was only ever going to be a short lived love affair for those who wanted something retro .
