Recommend me a Brisbane TMR approved mod plate place

i've done a few searches and looked at the Mk6 threads index, rang Guy Harding performance, but found none mentioning a recommended place in Brisbane area who does a mod plate.

i'm looking for a place who knows big brakes and VAG cars, and won't spend the whole day assessing a DOT / TUV approved BBK system.

will also get a RWC, which i hope won't be a complicated task, to transfer my NSW rego to QLD.

anyone has a good experience in Brissy to share?

I know you said you spoke to Guy Harding, but did you specifically ask him the question. I know that they've done many BBK's in Brisbane and had the mod plate done...

Having said that, I'm not sure a Brisbane mod plate/engineering certificate is relevant in NSW. It used to be that each state had their own regs. Not sure what the current system is (only that it's "under review").

I'll move this to "General Discussion" though, as it's not MK6 Golf specific and you'll likely get more responses from people who know...

    thanks Corey

i rang Guy Harding performance today but the person answering the phone was rather busy. anyway they don't do mod plate or rwc, and could not find the name card of a place that can do it..

also rang Prestige & Performance, they don't do rwc and mod plate services either.

the reason i rang Guy Harding performance is because i noted they knew where to get it done, per:
    http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...tml#post550750

about the relevance to NSW, it's not an issue to me as i will be relocating to QLD next month and the car is already in Brisbane now.

besides, i rang a RTA approved engineering company in Sydney once and they were clueless about big brake conversion, and mentioned that it would take the whole day to assess the BBK, at $190 / hour (fair for a professional service fee per hour). it just implied that they know nothing about Stoptech Brembo AP Racing & Co, and think DOT / TUV are far inferior to ADR.

Did you manage to track down anyone for the mod plate?

A friend of mine who imports Japanese vehicles uses a couple of engineers from Brisbane to do mod plates on his imports occasionally. I can always get you the the contact details of a couple of the guys he uses if you like?

It wouldn't be till after Xmas/New Year though.

Does anyone know somewhere closer to Anstead that I could get my mk2 mod plated as a 2 seater and also the RWC done?

Or are there any guys that drive out?

Munro's definitely will do that as I had my Landcruiser seats taken out for 2 years and they plated it and replated it when I put them back
Was $60 each time. Was done when he was on Bribie Island
You are supposed to remove the seatbelts as well so you cant put a milk crate in and sit on it and use the belts.
Ring them up and talk to them. Greg is a pretty good guy.
It will only take 1/2 an hour if you have done it correctly.
If I remember correctly the mod is defined as LK 1.
