It’s not just VW: Official tester claims four more diesel car giants break toxic emissions limit
    - Researchers found BMW, Ford, Mazda and Mercedes cars emitted levels of nitrogen oxides up to seven times the legal limit
    - Volkswagen engines polluted 35 per cent less than comparable cars
    - Findings suggest other manufacturers have found ways to pass the tests

The thing is that there is not a single in-service emission limit anywhere. They are comparing the limit for running the official drive cycle with running the vehicle anywhere and under any load conditions. The drive cycle limits were NEVER expected to be used as a limit for in-service use.

Just wait until they test petrol engined cars as well.

Volkswagen Australia Diesel Emissions News & Information

    Here's what I got
We regret to inform you that the Type EA 189 engine built into your vehicle with the Vehicle Identification Number WVWZZZ3C, you submitted as at 10/10/2015 09:03:43 AM is affected by software that causes discrepancies in the values for oxides of nitrogen (NOx) during dynometer runs. Your car is safe from a technical standpoint.

We are very sorry to have broken your trust and are working at full speed to find a technical solution. Volkswagen will cover the cost relating directly to this repair.

Probably best to check online first. A quick google of "Adblue in Australia" gives a number of relevant hits. I think Shell Sutton Forest is the closest to you.

I'd think as demand increases so will the number of outlets, in the same way that they've increased the number of diesel pumps in the last 5 years. Lets face it, it would have been useless to build Tesla Supercharge stations 12 months ago.

Why are people worried about the lack of availability of Ad blue. IF your car isnt fitted with it there is almost no chance of a retrofit as it involves a fair bit of gear to make it work. A tank to hold the stuff would be the first problem and where to fit it.

Was wondering if AdBlue commonly available. Many thanks to Brad for informative Google search. (See previous post by Brad)
For example, do cars compliant with euro6 now require AdBlue? Does new Passat claim Euro6 compliance. (TDI140) for Australia?
Am still waiting for release new model. Has goodies I want.

I'm pretty sure the mods to the 1.6 will include AdBlue. One of the Yeti's has had AdBlue fitted and the setup is very "Heath Robertson" including the filler being inside the luggage area.

I agree though, there's no point worrying until there's a problem.

Anyone got any new news? Aside from the 'sorry we failed you' email from VWA?
