I filled the GT TDI last week and it cost me just under $60 for around 50 litres and I only managed to get 840k's out of the tank :shakebutt: The MFD said I still had about 120k's to go, gotta love that Diesel Tractor Power !!!!

The increase in fuel price in QLD, is due to lack of competition and increases made by service station owners. The amazing thing is that they seem to do it all at once, currently they are taking around 10-17 cent take per litre.
The current price per barrel, will probably stay around 85 dollars per barrel, and shouldnt reach over 90 due to extra stock of oil and the fact the chinese are threatening to stop purchasing oil if the price exceeds 90 dollars.
Best bet keep your shopper docket and purchase on the downward cycle, just as MR Coles and MRS Woolworths want you to do. Or buy a diesel vehicle.
Cheers

WEEKLY PETROL PRICES REPORT
hi guys
Figured i'd wade in on this one.

As most on here, we are car enthusiasts and i'd hazard a guess that 8 out of 10 of you don't even care to glance at the fuel price per litre when you need fuel. I know we all look at the total dollar amount at the bowser then go in and pay, but thats different - its after we've filled up. all good.
And most of us would fill up either when we're empty-ish or when we go to our fave servo cause we know and trust their fuel (PM me if you'd like the inside goss on what i mean - be VERY picky about your servos people). I say this cause I own a Shell site and have 100% tank turnover on average every 48hours and know the value of what good fresh fuel is.
Anyway, back on prices, servos make no margin on fuel. NONE. If you're awesome at running the business you get like 3c a litre in reality and whats that in the grand scheme of things. The margin is in ancillaries (car wash, bulk goods, shop sales, mechanic, etc). We're exactly the same in that respect as cinemas - they make their money from the candy bar not the ticket booth.
Anyway, to get a slightly better idea check here - Terminal Gate Pricing - Australia
The bottom line is that fuel prices have no cycle anymore and Tuesdays aren't the cheapest. There are no magical dates or times to buy your fuel. My best tips are to be loyal to a servo you know and trust and buy it whenever you need it. Oh, and buy stuff in the shop too (but look for the promo items for best value) ;)
