I want an LED in a magnet that I can stick to the shaft of a screwdriver or the length of a spanner like this, but able to transfer it from tool to tool - how often I can't see what I am doing because it is dark is annoying.
You know how you sometimes see something and think "Wow! That's awesome!" and then you get home and think "Why of earth did I buy this?"
I bring you the LED spanner!
It's shiny, OE and ratchet ringy with a LED!
Impulse buys will be the death of me someday.

I reckon that could be a handy spanner to carry in the rally car Pete. Night time rally, have a problem, forgot the torch, no worries still see what your doing. May be if I had a full set I wouldn't need a torch. That would make make it lighter ( LOL ) so we could go faster. ... Cheers .... Geoff
I'm a "visualise with feel" kinda guy so that sort of stuff never grabs my attention. I guess it would be handy in some situations though. And a 13mm will just about soley disassemble half a Mk1 so it's a good size..

You can buy very small led lights these days. If you get one with a switch that stays on that you can glue a couple of small strong magnets to you'd be set. I suggest you get one with replaceable batteries though, if it works well and you like it you might use it a lot (or even just forget to switch it off sometime).
No charge or patent for the idea (I like to se my IP used )
If you want a good (but somewhat expensive) headlamp for working on cars I suggest you look at a Zebralight H501. I've got one and it is brilliant - totally flood illumination, so good even light just in front of you where you need it (but very little throw - if you need to see things more than 10 feet away buy something else). It's very small and light, and runs on rechargeable AAs (Nimh).
