Gotta say I agree with pretty much all of whats been posted.

I would add, though, that I am sure there are plenty of people who could do that kind of damage in a carpark and actually never even realise it. Some drivers are so oblivious that they can hit stuff without realising. You see them all the time, mostly in camry's.

It sucks, but all you can do really is try and prevent it by clever parking youself.

Almost got cleaned up by one coming out of the driveway through a line of stopped traffic on the road up from the Lane Cove river to Fullers Road last Thursday (when we had the really heavy rain). The driver stuck his hose about half a metre into my side of the road and then propped. I was about 3 m away when I saw the white fender of a Camry in the headlights and had to swerve (not much room) left and right to avoid getting hit.

Of course hybrid owners have the utmost respect for other vehicles when parking since they care so much about...everything
