    You don't NEED them, sometimes the buyer might *like* to have them, but there is no requirement. For example if a car is near to needing rego (withing 4 weeks) the buyer might want you to supply a pink slip (although with a new car you don't need one for three years).

    i think it's 5 years now.

    to all those who won't part with their car until the money clears, put yourself in the buyers shoes. Why should I give you all my money without receiving the goods?
    The way i have done it in the past is to take a fair wad of cash & a bank cheque or funds transfer for the remainder & hand the car over.

    Not that its' relevant in this case but just in case someone is doing some searching in the future and reading this thread you do need RWC in Queensland to sell a car that is QLD registered. Of course if it is unregistered then you don't need one.
