    NRMA Running Costs Calculator

Saw this on the news tonight:
    http://www.mynrma.com.au/mynrma/oper...alculator.aspx

so thought I would have a look.

Call me crazy but it seems to be a straight Fuel + insurance over five years + purchase price divided out to give a weekly number, although there may be a small number in there for maintenance too...

So of course when you 100% depreciate a car over 5 years a more expensive car has a far higher "weekly" costs Thank you captain obvious.

It is that simple. But I suppose it gives people an approximate amount their vehicle may cost to run.

So the cheapest option is to buy a 1975 Toyota Carolla...

It costs me to put petrol in it. I'm happy with that. I don't care how much it costs, because it's not electric.
