Reminds me of a review someone left for the current model Holden Barina, here's an excerpt.
This car is the biggest piece of crap every built. I hate it and I don't have money to buy something new again. [word removed] you GM, Daewoo rubbish. VW gets roasted but their cars run perfectly, but GM makes a bunch of crap and everyone's happy. I'm so pissed off. I'm tempted to ram this car straight through the nearest Holden dealership shop front.

Yes it's no wonder GM is shutting up shop for years now they have offloaded Daewoo badged cars onto the aussie market . The only time they had decent small and medium cars was when they were importing the Opel range rebadged for Australia .I had a HB Barina [Opel Corsa ] great car in 4 years did over 140000 kays and it only cost me $65 in repairs still had its original rear tyres when I sold it . Today VW transporter only 120000 kays and it has cost me close to $16000 in repairs Pity VW could not learn from their Opel friends in Europe about quality .
I think GM has just resorted to importing Opels now and not even changing the badges. See plenty of them at the local dealership.

They're selling a mix of Australian, European and Korean built at the moment. I guess once local manufacturing ends what they sell will depend on which sells better - the more expensive Euro sourced cars or the cheaper Korean. Early reviews of the new Korean built Spark are very positive - but who knows what the quality will be like?
Crazy thing that happened a few years back , customers were disgruntled with GMH not bringing in some euro models only Korean built Daewoo crap so Opel Europe themselves decided to do it themselves . Dealers were set up outside of the normal Holden network and they sold fairly well. Then some genius within GM made the decision that they did not want competition from their own name sake because Opel is after all owned by GM so the Opel brand disappeared from Australia once again .I would imagine those dealers who set up Opel branded outlets would have been pretty pissed off . Seems GMH are dead set on keeping us supplied with cheap rubbish . The new Malibu is made in several countries ie Russia USA Korea China , no guesses where our version will come from but then the new Cascada convertible comes out of Opel in Europe .
