The trailer is FINISHED! (Well, almost.. Only a couple of minor things to do tomorrow..)

    Here's a few pics.

We got the aluminium checker plate riveted on today and all went smoothly.

Flip up tether points. We used a hole saw and a jigsaw if you're wondering..

Loaded the car and tied it down..

Then we took it for a test tow out the road and back. It towed like a dream and the over rider disc brakes worked really well.

We also finished off the pipe plugs..

    We have some ideas..

Those aren't the guards that will be staying on it either..

Almost all set.. Just a few minor things to do.. And we need to get some more methanol.

We finished the last few things on the trailer (for now) today.

Then we got the body panels sorted.

Unfortunately we couldn't get a signwriter to paint the drivers names etc on the panels in time (to be truly authentic..), so i raced down to my mate that makes stickers, designed some up and cut em out.

Obviously its not completely finished but its close enough for its first outing.

    Hell yeah we have!

After we got the panels sorted out and got everything together, Dad reset the leak down on the barrel valve (leaned it off), reset the idle (upped it from 12 thou to 14 thou) and we rolled the car outside.

It had just rained previously and it was reasonably cold. We had some issues with starting the engine on methanol, so we switched to petrol, and apart from almost flooding it by accident, it started fine.

We let it warm on methanol, then switched it over to nitro.

It picked up the nitro rather fast and really started to rumble. Idling nicely and throwing some really good even flames from all pipes. Dad gave the throttle a few hits and it was crisp as hell and really made some noise. We really couldn't have asked for much more.. It was fantastic!

We had people coming out the front of their houses to see what the bloody hell the noise was! haha. We even had a guy come up from down the road to see what was going on.

We're pretty mush ready to go tomorrow, just gotta load up and head off.

    Fantastic.
