We had a very productive day today..

I got the oil filter mount finished..

Here it is semi attached so i could work out a few things..

Here it is with all holes drilled and tapped and trimmed up.

Finally, all finished, polished and mounted.

I got the blower starter extension rods finished today (pretty much).

We took the belt off and wound the blower over off the starter on 12 volts (it runs 36 normally) to make sure that the dogs engaged fully and everything lined up. It worked perfectly.

We fitted the crank pulley and wired it up too.

This is a safety mechanism so that the crank bolt can't come undone and the pulley come off. It's happened in the states and a guy got hit. He didn't get hurt, but he could have. With public liability bullsh*t we've got going here these days that's the last thing we need to happen!

Dad fitted some fully hectic custom Ryobi springs in the front of the XC.

Looks Waaaaay better. Just the right amount of RAKE (Yeah, you heard me, Tim! haha)

I made the fuel tank restraints today..

I used the hooks off some occie straps that Dom and I bought for 2.50 a pair in melbourne and Dad got some black elastic cord from Bunnings. I cut it and folded the end over and used stainless tie wire to secure the end (with the hooks on the cord already, ofcourse! haha). Black occie straps are impossible to find these days!

This is the way the tank was held in by Morrie. He said he was only every questioned once by the scrutineers. Apparently this is how it went...

Scrutineer: "Why have you got two occie straps holding the fuel tank, Morrie?"

Morrie: "Well, there's two, incase one of the breaks!"

Yeah I figured it was on there but your eyes must be better than mine. So that's what, about 13.25L in proper measurements yes?
