NON-GENUINE parts used by VW dealers??!!

Hey I noticed something on the paperwork from Barloworld that I had not seen before.

At the bottom corner or the invoice is a small comment that says:

" whilst we endeavour to use genuine parts at all times, please note some minor components may be generic and not a factory replacement part"

So, after all of the hype to make us beleive that we must use only genuine parts and have work done by only VW dealer service centres, it seems like it doesnt matter where we go!

So that is a win for all the non-dealer proffessional VW specialist guys out there!!

NOTE: "minor components MAY" I recon this is just to cover nuts and bolts type stuff, not any major part, in fact it specifically excludes anything OTHER than minor. Don't see it as any issue at all, probably a standard clause to stop anal clients from saying "this lock-washer doesn't have VW stamped on it".

    Cheers

oils, greases, WD40, silicone spray, split pins, the bolts that hold on your number plates, number plate frames, tyres, batteries, wiper blades, washer fluid, sump plug washers, etc. It's a handy clause to have in case something is stuck on a boat somewhere & a generic replacement will do the job equally well. I guess the interesting bit is if they list the generic part & charge an appropriate price for it.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
