I couldn't get the VIN. I got the name of the ship my car is on (Toreador, MMSI Number: 235068882, IMO Number: 9375288, Callsign: 2BSG3). It just left Durban and is due in Sydney around 30 Sept. Because I can't get into the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website I can't get the actual itinerary, but at least I can track the ship from port to port.
So the Toreador and Tamesis will be arriving in Oz around the same time. Lots of Skodas and VWs.
Actually, the Toreador is due to arrive in Fremantle on 27th Sept, and Port Kembla on 4th Oct. I don't know how Skoda handle the cargo processing. If they drop my car off in Fremantle rather than process through NSW, I will be ecstatic. It means they would come close to meeting their 12 week estimate for custom build.
We should NZ bound today no Luminary??
Evan.
My wife's Golf is on the Oberon, due Port Kembla Monday. Ship schedules are available at http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSchedules/ Just search by ship name. That's how I found it is 4 days late. I missed the Panama canal transit, but I sometimes watch the ships passing through. I will be watching http://marinetraffic.com/ais/shipdet...MMSI=266283000 to track the Oberon into Brisbane. Any webcams in Brisbane's docks?
The Toreador has arrived in Fremantle this morning. It docks at the No.11 berth at North Quay, inner harbour. http://www.fremantleports.com.au/Shi...er/Webcam6.asp

The Tamesis arrived in Brisbane on the 28th of September.
I got this picture of it from Pinkenba on the 29th, 5 days ago; a few hours before it was scheduled to leave.
Didn't see my car, but it's there somewhere behind
The good news for me is that I sold my Accord Euro yesterday for a decent sum privately. $4500 more than what the dealer was offering as a trade in so it suited me. The second person to see it bought it. They'd looked at a few other cars and thought mine was the best of the lot.
So I'm now looking forward to getting the Passat even more. Went to the dealers yesterday to provide some paperwork etc. and saw a beautiful black R36 sedan demonstrator/manager's car there.
I'm hoping the car will be released in the next week (if not already) and I'll have it probably in two weekend's time. I've given them special instructions to not buff or detail the paintwork in any way. Far too many times, the paintwork is ruined at delivery.

I would be careful to ensure that by doing this Luminary that you are able to check the car for scratches if they have not taken off the pre-delivery coating. I am not sure what they use but my car seemed to have a fine coat of something over it that was left in small places that didn't show up until I did the Zaino bit.
We are looking forward to the pics... you have surely made this an event for us all to follow!!
