Opel Astra OPC: Hottest Astra ever for Oz

At least 206kw front wheel drive, I wonder how it will get the power down. No firm word on pricing yet, but from the article it appears to be in direct rival with the MPS 3, GTI and R, Renault RS etc. Due here early 2013....

All that extra power but only does 0-100kph in 6.0 seconds claimed? I'd rather the Golf R I think

And if the Mk7 Golf R is anything like that new Audi S3 we saw the other week...

Personally I take claimed 0-100kph times with a grain of salt. Lots of things vary that time. According to citroen my car is 10.2 0-100km/h but in most reviews I've seen, it has been 8.9-9.2 0-100km/h. Big difference if you ask me.

From what I've seen with the Astra OPC/VXR is that is has a proper LSD like in the Megane RS Trophy Cup thingy to get its power down.

I think it will be fairly pricey (around Scirocco R territory), considering the price of the GTC Astra that is currently on sale.

The mk7 Golf R will certainly be worth waiting for to compare with the other uber hot hatches around, especially with (i'm guessing here) awd like previous models.
