Not sure if you've found your car yet but noticed this one on carsales... 2012 Audi A3 Ambition MY12 S tronic quattro

Might be stretching the budget a little but it'd be a big step up from other cars you're looking at and only 10k on the clock (just run in).

New Polo GTi will be around 33k once you get it on the road, of course depending on how many options you tick~

or a Mk 6 Gti with approx 40,000km, DGS and a few options. I'm in the the market for one and People are asking low 30s but in reality they go for around $28k

THE Jetta Comfortline is on an introductory special at $29999,with DSG and White paint.

    Very good value for money.

    Thanks for the reply Anthony.

I'm definitely leaning toward a more spacious yet more reliable car now.
I'm actually trying to settle for either the Jetta or the Tiguan.

Both are very nice, just unsure about the DSG and the 1.4 TSI on the Jetta ...

For $22-25k you can find a nice Mk6 GTI with under 60,000km's. I got one 12months ago for $19,600 with 55,000km (white, manual, only option was reverse camera) but i got it from the dealership my brother works at and he gave it to me for the trade in price, so it was $3-4k cheaper than it should have been. Its a good little car but i think i would prefer a new Polo GTI (actually i may upgrade to the Polo once it is released).
Starting to look more into the MK6 GTI's again.
I've gotten 2 links, tell me what you think. Also how are you finding the GTI? That particular year/model face any major issues etc?

Both of those would be good buys...MY12.5 and low km. Maybe knock a grand off each but they're on the money.

Apart from possible wastegate actuator rattles (a $50 fix, possibly even under warranty) it seems those models are fairly bulletproof. It's the pre 2010 ones that have a few niggles i.e. cam tensioner, coil packs, DSG software
