    My VW's at my wedding!

    Hey folks,

Yesterday I finally married my partner Megan in a ceremony in my home town of Elands in NSW.

Megan is just as enthusiastic about dubs as I am and we used both our lovely golfs in the wedding.

I spent quite a few sweaty weekends repainting front and rear bumpers, windscreen sill, rear passenger quarter and passenger door on the cabrio in the original LA5Y Helios Blue.

We also used our mk3 for the bridal party whilst Megan and I were chauffeured in the Cabrio.

And yes, I am wearing a Kilt, and yes, that is a Scottish Claymore Broadsword

It was a great day and a wonderful wedding.

    Cheers
    Aydan

Hey WOW big guy, congratulations, it's a day that will live with you forever. I'm really pleased for you, shame about this being the end of your tinkering for about 20 years, but stoked for you all the same.

    So who wore the garter?

Congrats man, I'm sure the cars would've made the day complete

I wanna have a Mk1 Cabby at my wedding, and the other half doesn't really get a choice!

Hey thanks guys for your kind comments.

Greg, thats a good question and I must say I did put it to Megan that I should wear the garter, turns out they didn't have one in my size

I think that colour is one of the nicest and most curious VW colours. It has quite a lot of red pigment in it making it look purple in some light, but other times it looks just blue.

Lots of our guests were looking over the car all very curious, pretty much everyone had never really seem a mk1 cabrio before.
