Glad you like it fellas, i was lurking around here a little buying and selling polo bits... trying to fly under the radar! had to pull the ad.. had zero interest in it before the episode went live then stupid interest in it once it did. I must say I forgot that VW people are scared of high Ks, the cars in stupidly good condition. I'm used to Subaru people who will buy a car with 400,000k's on it without thinking twice!

it'll sit in the garage for a while yet, i've got a few other goodies to go on it (S3 brakes, frankenturbo, fmic etc) but i think its just gonna make it spin one front wheel a little bit more than it already does.

not a crap car by any means, and i never actually said it was a 'bad' car - its just not as engaging as what i'm used to. But then i also don't do the daily traffic grind and i'm sure thats much more pleasant in a euro..

next episode is gonna be epic

The brakes will be good - wheel spinning is the FWD curse

In the old days Jap cars were much better for the daily grind because they had a light clutch and carburation that was setup for round town driving - auto's, fuel injection and other high tech seem to have levelled the playing field

When I bought a Mazda3 I lost interest in cars - my Skoda has re-engaged me - different strokes for different folks

rip the back seats out, rip the aircon and power steering pump off, tune it, throw some coilovers under it, chuck some fatter rubber under her and you'll be laughing. a few blokes in melbourne would probably give a left nut and let you drive theirs in a hope to keep a polo under the constant youtube spotlight

missed this one, catch up at lunch time...

The Polo is useless without a tune, 110kw stock from an engine that can do 150 without any real mods, not far off what the mk4 GTI was (at least its lighter). With the extra power (more torque really) it benefits from being dropped.

Once you've spent a good 5k on it, very nice toy...

I guess its all over now, but happy to show the boys how one with some reasonable mods moves. I don't consider my Polo a weapon, but its now in a place where I can't see anything for what its worth that would be an upgrade (IMO).

I've borrowed Gav's spare CC ECU if you wanted to see if he'll send it your way for a demo... Car is pointless without at least a phase 1 tune.

lmfao just saw the polo episode. You bought a stock car with 95kW and 230Nm at the wheels and had expectations that it would be "engaging". I think riding an old mule might be more engaging

I drove a Honda City Turbs ('my cousin has one he lets me sit in sometimes'), which I believe would be early 80s kW at the engine.... and it was engaging as an engagement party, albeit I was a little worried it might fall over.

That's right... I can JDM when I need to.

have bought cars with half that power that have been better to drive... i don't mean better to commute, better to go to the shops in, better to carry your girlfriends dog around in (or your girlfriend) but just something you want to go and attack twisties in

you can't understand that unless you give it a go, so i did... thats the most i've ever spent on a car keep in mind, i realise a 2x more expensive r32 or gti might be a different story

all part of a process at the moment, haven't sold the polo.. although i did get offered a swap for a copen :O

Yeah Ben, when we are done with yours, there's no immediate plans for it. Trial for the cost of postage.
