$185 a corner for a Michelin PS4!
Where?
Pilot Sport 4s are in the country and are being fitted as we speak. I have installed them (225/45R17) 94Y for $185 a corner and just this past weekend I ran them for over 1300km (Sydney -> Parkes -> Sydney) over some seriously rough roads and more than 40km of graded gravel roads.
It was wet, it was dusty and it was high G cornering.
Coming from Pilot Super Sports they have a very similar square wall stance (PS3 do not have a square wall)
They were quiet. They gripped. They're good.
Noone will match Tempe in Vic...
I called Michelin Aust. They told me who ordered a lot in my size near me. I called them as they'd probably do a deal. I got my boots at a good price.
Smart .. i just say the mechanic in the same complex sent me

Michelin PS4 $185, buy 4 get $100 cash back
Michelin PS3 $156. buy 4 get $100 cash back
Bridgestone RE003 $169, buy 4 get one free.
From Bob Jane, but it is an Oz wide sale..
UPDATE:
There are currently two deals going round:
1) Bridgestone buy 3 get 1 free
2) Michelin $100 deduction when you buy 4
So based on Jax Tyres price for 225 40 R18
Bridgestone RE003 (92W) - $681
Michelin PS4 (92Y) - $896
I recently went into Bob Jane regarding the Michelins. Initially offered them for $259 each but were willing to beat Jax Tyres once I mentioned them - so I could get them for $245 each.
What I also noticed on the Jax Tyres website, it shows "Michelin Pilot Sport 4 ST". After digging around I found out that the "ST" means "Silence Tuned". Any ideas if these are different to the PS4 or is it all the same?
I'm leaning towards buying the Michelins but a $200 saving on the Bridgestone is quite bit. Our car (Golf R MK6) is used for general driving purposes with slight fun around the corners at times (which is why the stock RE050A have lasted us 60K lol!)
I will need to ask for the DOT (manufacture date) on the tyres I choose as long as they are not more than 1yr old.
Decisions decisions...
Ok so I pulled the trigger on the Michelin PS4s.
$240 per tyre and $55 for all wheel alignment at Bob Jane TMarts. Final price, $915 after $100 Michelin promotion. Will let you know how they drive after I've done some km's on the first.
FWIW I had a set of PS4s on my Mk5 Golf GTI but ditched them for another set of ContiSportContact 5. I'm pretty fussy on ride and the PS4s were just too stiff and crashy on my Mk5. I dropped pressures as low as I was prepared to go but they were still still too harsh for me and the roads I frequent. CSC5 have that bit more compliance but similar performance, albeit not quite as tactile in steering response. The PS4 is the best tyre I've ever used in that respect.
I reckon the PS4 would be utterly brilliant on a Mk7 GTI, given that model's better suspension compliance.
