How cold are we talking? Diesel gelled?
p.s. This is a wild guess, wait for a real mechanic to pipe in!
Hey Fellas,
I need some mechanical advice for my work ute (2010 isuzu dmax).
Recently on cold starts first thing in the day, when I press the accelerator I get nothing, nothing, nothing, then the revs kick in finally but it's very much low in power, as if hand brake is on. Then once it starts moving, 4-5 seconds, it all runs smoothly.
Once warm this doesn't happen, and when starting again during the day it's also fine, unless it's been still for like 4 or so hours.
What would be causing this? Any idea's?
Cheers

Not cold enough for that, like overnight melbourne temperatures, so like 10 degree-ish.
Thanks anyways maelgwn![]()
Could be several things — turbo not kicking in until something warms up (sticking valve or vanes, carbon buildup up etc) — dirty injectors or filter — pump slow raising fuel pressure — a sensor slow to react when cold (MAF?) — none of the above...
I wouldn't hang about in getting it diagnosed — modern diesels are not the simple things we used to run last century, and what looks like a minor fault can become expensive if not followed up promptly.
Have you had it scanned?
What are the fault codes?

Could be sticky throttle body, solenoid faulty. Would be a drive by wire
