Just let her drive the R32... The GTI is more fun anyway.

She was shopping within her budget, deep inside I knew there was something not right, especially for a first car ( imagining what my mum would say ... a TURBO ??? *back hand* You can have TURTLE instead )!!! I insisted to buy a car for much much less and give it up once gaining more road experience. But emotion kicked when she saw the GTI.

If we both have realised earlier, there would be no way....NO WAY we would have went ahead with the deal !!!!!!!

Money is one thing having to ride the emotional roller coaster is another!

well.. she has already decided to sell it.

Thank you for all your comments !!! I will post up some photos after I give the GTI a delux treatment.

Damn that sux.. Why not let her drive your R32, you drive the GTI for now. And just take the R32 when you want.

When your a bit older, dont you have the option of getting of provisionals quicker? Sounds like a big fuss having to sell it. but if you really cant deal with it I can understand you would sell.

I don't see what the issue is... You have a turbo and a non turbo... Seems like a no brainer to me...Have her drive the R32 till she is off her P's... The other thing is, why did you not read the rules regarding P plate vehicles before buying the GTI??

Louis has a manual VR6 and his girlfriend is adamant on driving an auto, plus they're not living together hence the thread. The P plate rules just flew by our heads - we went through our P's before the introduction of these rules.

Go for the debadge and convert the front-end to Comfortline-spec

Anyone not following the laws for the vehicle restrictions (as stupid as the laws are) won't be covered by insurance if they are involved in a crash. MASSIVE risk. You can end up in gaol for years if you kill someone or in debt you whole life if you cause significant damage.

Plus most cops would pull you over if you have a P plate just to make sure.
My brother has been pulled over in his Mazda 323 and Feroza and asked if it's a turbo.
They don't know what to look for so they just target p platers because they are stupid and are more likely to break the rules.

They aren't going to go "Oh hang on, that guy doesn't have a GTI front bumper and has no GTI badge so it must be okay"
They will just pull you over, check the rego and ping you accordingly.

All Feroza's could do with a turbo.. pitty the gearbox wouldn't like it.

    thanks for the Clarification ray.

I still insist to sell the car, now she is impling she want to keep it and for me to drive her around, perhaps later on....sell my "**** box" . OMG...That is the worst case senario. I am not done with my VR6 yet. Wounldnt you agree the essense of loving a car is knowing it back to front and inside and out, give it care and maintain it. I rather my **** box than an expensive trophy. Classic example to how men and women look at things, that how I see it... LOL
