I would be more than happy to park my bum in either of these. For everday practicality, it would be a toss up between BMW and Audi. Leaning a bit to Audi, they are a bit more exclusive these days in that you don't see many around and when you do they turn heads.

M3 all the way. Uncle has a white one with dark Grey csl rims and omg I ****ing love it!
Although I also love the Audi especially because it's so rare to see them.
Chuck an exhaust on the m3 and you have c63 rivaling sound with all the refinement and poise of an m3 and luxury of the Audi. So definatley m3 for me.

I could never buy the Mercs, it only comes in automatic!.

I believe that the M3 is slightly superior than the RS4, but it took BMW 18 months to come up with something marginally better?

I think the RS4 is way superior internally, the aesthetics are much nicer to sit in.

and sound? YouTube - Tubi exhaust on Audi RS4

I get major wood everytime I hear this Tubi exhaust

They have but when they're getting belted, they still sound cool! See if you can get one to give it 100% throttle when they're next to you and windows are down. If it doesn't send a shiver down your spine then you might not have a pulse!

I'd go RS5 personally. The V8 at 8000RPM is AWESOME and who doesn't love LC that lets rip at ~6000rpm with AWD grip, it almost reminds me of sidestepping the clutch in an 32GT-R hehe.

anyone else see the M3 competition Vs RS5 on Top Gear last night...

I know it was clarkson at the wheel ( and prob a paid advert by BMW) but the RS5 had major understeer compared to clinical M3

and when the STIG did the hot lap the M3 was marginally quicker on a damp track, hence lost time drifting in corners

I love C63!!! in White! I would get the plates STMTPR!

C63 Estate with performance pack - voted with the wallet and should be delivered in the next few weeks.

For me the M3 was not an option as it didn't have a wagon / estate variant, but despite that I'm not a big fan of BMWs interior layout and the V8 bellow isn't as exciting as the C63.

The RS4 would have made things interesting, but as it's not currently being made the actual Audi comparison vehicle was the RS6, which is a spectacular vehicle but in my mind not worth the $100K premium over the C63. It's more of an E63 Estate rival (which sadly we don't get out here) - the closest current Audi would be the S4 but again the Avant is not available in Australia leaving just the S4 Sedan which is more a 335i / C350 than a real range-topper. If a new RS4 had been available the AWD system would have been a big drawcard especially mated to the RS5's engine but I still think the C63 would have won my money.

jamesfish, I was just watching an interview with the Audi Amercia boss, and he was stating that he was quite confident they will be releasing a new RS4

I wouldn't have any of them.
It would be an RS6 or E39 M5 for me. Less electronics telling you what to do & the M5 has a proper manual & great chassis. Plus you'd have loads of money left over for a weekend toy.
