Logo Competition! $50 fuel card up for grabs!

    Hi all,

Starting preparation on what is currently known as the QLD Excel Rally Series. Need a new and exciting logo for what will be known from 2010 onwards as the 'Hyundai Max Attack Challenge'. Need a compact, exciting logo, feel free to use the Hyundai logo in it. If you need inspiration, it's a one make series, the cars are near stock, and driven to the limit often knock of WRXs and EVOs. If you need further inspiration here's a vid of us testing last year:

Any questions or submission fell free to give me a bell on 1300 884 836, or email greg at gslrallysport dot com!

    Cheers,
    Greg

Sorry to disappoint ya dude, but we took two outright stage wins at Rally QLD last year (ARC round) and came 2nd overall, and regularly set better stage times than many WRX and EVOs through out the year... Unlike roundy roundy racing, rally is more about how well you can drive, not what you drive.

It's the only rally series in the country with prize money, and the only factory rally team in Australian runs an Excel.

I don't mind. I don't except it to be everyone's cup of tea, but when you're air born at 180km/hr over blind crests, it doesn't really matter what you're in...

Commitment in a car with no horsepower is alot harder than commitment in a car with horsepower.

Excel, also currently the only factory rally car in Australia is an excel, so they can't be that bad!

    From Another Forum:
    Hey Greg.
    Great idea
Are you after a graphic logo? (something with photos/images in it) or something simpler, more vector based that can be used for letterheads and stuff in black and white?
    Hi mate,

Something more vector based I guess. Which can be the basis of letterheads like you say, merchandise etc. Also Hyundai who run a factory car (infact the only factory rally car in Australia at the moment!), support the series very well, so although the Excel, are cheap, relatively fast, and super reliable, we won't be in them forever, so if possible keep it Hyundai specific, no so much Excel. Also for the right artwork we're looking at offering more than the $50.

An example of the type of thing we're looking at:

Dimensions are open, but keep in mind it has to be used for letter headers, and top of websites etc.

Resolution, high as possible. Never know where it will end up!

I've been asked if I'd be willing to sponsor a set of QFM pads in place of the $50 (possibly more) fuel car, the answer is yes. Anything to the value or $100-$150 will be considered depending on the quality of work...

    From another forum:
how much does it cost to buy an excel rally car?
To buy, they generally sell for between $6-$10k depending on spec level. To build from scratch, including the car, you could do it and win the series with a $10k car. Ours cost us $15k ish, or a full spec car like Hyundai's factory car (currently the only factory rally car in Australia!) currently owes them about $20k:

The biggest expense is suspension, which will set you back about $4-5k. The rest is a stock excel parts (which are super reliable), and a roll cage/seats/harness/sump guard.
