It was a little hot in Adelaide today

Driving around Adelaide this afternoon and outside temp was 45.0degC according to the bureau of meteorology.

Anyway according to my car the "official" VW temperature was 48.0degC ... and here's the proof:

Either way it was stinking hot.

The temperature of the air above a bitumen road is often hotter than the ambient... I'd definitely believe 48.

My car gets babied; I avoid taking it out of the garage if the temperature's above about 32, if I can at all help it!

That's a pretty cool read out you've got there, can I ask how you got that on your 2011 MFD?

    Yes. Very perceptive

If you've got a full-height MFD (red, white or colour) as in most late model VAG vehicles (except Polo and Transporter), then you can get all sorts of data displayed. 4 or 6 lines of data per page depending on white/red display and you can configure up to 16 pages.

Here's the link to the FIS+ Advanced Complete Guide.

Intake temp 66 degrees - ouch!
I'm thinking of putting a bigger intercooler on my car...

My pool was still 29 degrees at 10pm last night
It will probably be over 30 degrees in tomorrows heat wave
