It doesn't matter how famous or how good a driver he is. Doing a burnout on a busy city street is completely irresponsible and unnecessary. Wouldn't anyone expect to get a heafty fine and a few demerit points for that one?!

Its a company car...If you had an AMG Merc as a company car, you would light it up... As for doing a burnout in the city, take some of my advice, don't get caught...

What he did was a bit silly, hardly dangerous in most circumstances, and certainly not when it was Hamilton driving.

BUT - anyone on here would get pinned for it - why shouldn't he.

The law is poorly written, the cops were just doing their jobs, remember they are sworn to prevent illegal activity when they witness it, regradless of their own personal opinion.

A simple fix would be to have the anti hoon laws have a single focus - 'Dangerous Activity involving a Motorvehicle' of course it would then come down to the cops interpretation and that could vary pretty widely, which wouldn't really be fair either.

No simple fixes in this world.
    Its here!

you know what is REALLY sad.

5 people died on VIC roads on the weekend (RIP). The one they televise, the one that was speed related!

What about the other 4 victims? What was the cause of their crashes? Of course everything is "speed related" its a dam motor vehicle! What about the fatigue/booze/poor road condition related ones?

I saw the shocking fatality crash on the news yesterday and there wasnt anything left of the car, the police judged it as the worst they have seen in their careers. That definately involved speed.
Still doesnt get though to so many people over there though. No good blaming the roads all the time either, you drive to the conditions and road.
Stupid driving for anyone, let alone a young inexperienced driver who think they know all.
I cannot believe that some here condone breaking simple road rules.

And traffic police are a different section to crime police who are the ones that care of thefts and crime...

The bottom line is this... Hoon laws are a farce and designed to do nothing but keep the cardigans of the world happy. For EVERYTHING you can get done for under anti-hoon legislation, there is ALREADY A LAW!!! Speeding, Dangerous Driving, Wreckless Driving (what Lewis did because it certainly wasn't dagerous).

I'm so over this nanny state country. Even the US Govt. is warning our Govt. not to implement internet filtering. I'm moving to Europe if this sort of nonsense keeps up in Australia! Australia is going to become the laughing stock of the modern world. Even Webber said he thought it was rediculous. Can't wait to see Jeremy Clarkson's take on it in the next TGUK series...

How about directing Police efforst into CRIME and VILOENCE PREVENTION? How about taking people off the roads who don't have enough skill to be there to start with? Govts. (any of them) have NO idea!
