    Ken Block - Respect

I've always had little respect for Block, i feel he's a bit (lot?) of a show-pony and his internet stardom is more from marketing than from absolute skill.

However, I was reading an article today in Motor magazine, and he said:

    - he got into rallying because he loved the Audi Quattros in the group B era
    - the first car he bought was a Golf GTI
    - his dream car would be a group B Audi Quattro S1

perhaps I can relax my views a bit and show him a bit of respect! LOL

I saw him rally at coffs this year. He had absolutely nothing on other drivers like loeb, hirvonen, and solberg amongst others.

However the fact that he rallies just because he can is pretty freaking cool.

Block's average WRC ranking is around 10th, which is still pretty damn good.

Personally though, his ability at marketing far exceeds his actual skill at a world level. However, he certainly deserves some respect.

pfft only 10th in the world....I wish I was 10th best in the world at something!

He's not going to be world champ, but if he can encourage Yanks away from banked oval motor sports into something more interesting then he has done the motoring world a service. Plus his highly editted YouTube vids are good fun to watch. They look like a blast to make too.

DC got bought out by Quicksilver, it was originally Ken Block and Danny Way's brother that started it when DC also used to be Droors Clothing in the early 90's.... So there.

that makes me like him even more
i do like the fact that he's just in it to have fun and get better at rallying. hearing him talk, he knows he is a rookie and doesn't get too cocky over things.
i can't stand people (mainly americans) saying "ken block can do it better/faster"..... hello, have u been watching wrc!!
i bet Loeb or any other wrc driver could have done gymkana's, but they didn't.
just coz Kenny B did, doesn't automatically make him the best driver in the world!!!
    end rant
