I grin a little bit at how "responsible" I told myself I would drive when I was 16 and first got my L's... Bought the VR a few months later and that mentality progressively went down the drain.. And with it, petrol money. I remember my mum getting pissed off at me cause I'd floor it off the lights up to the limit and back off, she would be like 'that just shows that if the speed limit wasn't there you would keep going!'.

Went for my first P's test, failed dismally... Amongst other reasons my 'zero to 60 times were way too fast' and I was 'likely to have a crash within three months'. Blah blah blah. Grannied it for the next one, passed that with ease, floored it outta the RTA carpark laughing like a nutjob...

In short: I hate tunnels, twisty roads, empty roads, roads where there's no police presence, and amber lights. That prob says it all

EDIT- I also hate swiss cheese airbox mods and larger, aftermarket de-resonated exhaust systems when combined with the above!

Decided I'd see what happens when I drive with the DSG in "S". With no full throttle applications on the way to work this morning I managed 16.9l/100km according to the MFD. My goal is to crack 20. On the flip side I have had it as low as 8.5 on the same trip but driving like Miss Daisy.

I get 400km/tank in the Mk2 (daily) I find if I hammer it once or twice on every run I get better fuel consumption? and if I putt it around I only get 350km/tank

But give me a tunnel and Ill gladly drop it down a gear
