    I must have set a new record when I sold the GTI in Feb. Asked $30k, sold it for $28.5k in one day.

    Granted it was still under new car warranty and only had 22k. Could have got more but what is a $1k or so when i already had a bird in the hand.

    Carsales have pretty accurate price guides (even an easy to understand graph) for car pricing once you place an ad.
    It gives you a chance to put the crack pipe down and price it to sell it.

    However... As car folk we know sometimes you may struggle to let a car go.

    Out of curiosity I've stayed subscribed to this seller's car

    A few weeks ago it went back up to $31,000 but this morning he dropped the price back to $30,000

    I think he may be doing this so his car gets bumped to the top of the page when people search most recent ads.
    I see dealers do similar by re-listing to get the top of the search results.
