I was t-boned at a roundabout on the weekend in my lovely Mk7 Trendline (less than 2 months and 1,500km old ) and all four curtain airbags and the passenger side airbag blew. Probably saved my passenger from more serious injury.

Anyway, the tow truck driver and police officer said the airbags usually cost around $6,000 each with the tow truck driver seeming to think that they would repair my car being so new. Given the location of the hit (right on the passenger door), I'm somewhat doubtful it could be safely repaired anyway.

So I'm wondering how accurate that estimate of $6,000 is as the car is insured for $28.5k or new car replacement. A window was also smashed in the accident, thankfully the tint held it together.
