I thought I would share my R32 buying saga to date, just so you can all get a laugh at my expense. First off there are no R32s in Tasmania. So I had to look interstate.
There was nothing in Victoria that really fit the bill, or at least every time I rang about one it had just been sold or deposit taken etc.
Finally found what I wanted in NSW.
Pretty much arranged everything in relation to buying the R32, flights, ferry trip back to Tassie. Then found out that it was an insurance write off! Rang the bloke back and told him what I had found out. Apparently he had no idea.
Then found an even better one in NSW. Confirmed all bookings and was ready to go tomorrow to pick it up. Then I get a text a few hours ago saying that he had sold it, knowing I was on the way to hand over the cheque that was already drawn etc!?
So now, all flights are still booked and ferry ready to go on Sunday. Have two more R32s lined up for tomorrow in Sydney.
I wonder what else can go wrong now?
I've got more to look forward to then : )
What model R32 are you after?
Nothing to see here...
It's not easy, that's all i can say!
Unfortunately i have to sell our jetta before i can buy a MK5 R32 so i'm not quiet up to the stage of organising flights etc like yourself.
I'm in Vic and the only couple that i have found that suit my requirements are in QLD or WA.
But to get the right car it is defiantly worth an interstate trip.
It's a bit rough when they get sold when you have organised everything.
Anyway Good luck!
White Scirocco R
White MK3 Golf 2dr
White Caddy (Work Van)
Good luck Silver.
I'm not all that fussy Manaz. Got to get a baby seat in there once a year so five door is better. Like the idea of having a DSG, but like the security of a manual. Got a couple of five door DSGs lined up for tomorrow. See how it goes I guess.

no MKV r32's in tazzie??? serious?
There's a rare few around, but none for sale : (
A member here had one for sale for months that ended up getting delivered to the mainland because no one in Tassie wanted to buy it...
