    Home Air-Con Advice

    Hi All,
This is completely unrelated to anything to do with cars but I'm a bit desperate... Have searched Whirlpool and other forums but there seems to be zero consistant information Thought someone here might be in the know and can give some clear advice.

My wife and I are building a home and we're trying to get some quotes on air con. We want to go with 3 wall splits - in the main living areas and in our bedroom. We've seen 4 different companies and have been given the most conflicting and inconsistant advice...

Basically, 2 installers have told us to go with inverter units and 2 have told us non-inverter units are fine. I have a fair understanding of what an inverter unit does, but can't for the life of me figure out whether they are actually worth paying the premium for.

If anyone has any meaning thoughts on this I would massively appreciate it and would think about even giving a hug!

Have you compared the price of 3 splits against a basic ducted system. Always shop around, deals to be had everywhere.

Yep. Even the most basic ducted comes in at about 3k more than 3 top-of-the-line Daiken splits. And we don't like the fact that with ducted you have to run the whole compressor the whole time, even when heating/cooling one area.

    you're on the right track.

    1. must be a Daikin
    2. Must be an inverter
    3. depends on aesthetic requirements, but I'd prefer a single zoned system.. much nicer than 3 separate boxes and all the piping that goes with them.
More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

We have 3 fujitsu's. (Into the 3rd year haven't missed a beat) - inverters - works a treat for heating and cooling.
The inverter does this Technology || Split System Comfort || Fujitsu General
The Boxes can be mounted out of the way and a reasonably quiet too!

Inverter is a must. Much cheaper to run.
We have a daikin multi split with a single outdoor unit and 3 internal units.

Has not missed a beat in the last 4years and is nice and quite. We can run it all night and the neighbours cannot hear it.

Only other brand I would look at is Fujitsu. But would probably buy another daikin as ours has been so great. Worth every extra cent over the cheap one we bought at another house we have since sold.
