Holy moly that is seriously chilling stuff.

I struggle to think how people can do that.

omg think of how the parents of all the victims are feeling. Far out, this is bad.

It had the nice rims too!!

Another Dubber lost and it kills me to see that it's for such a stupid reason. Driving fast simply isn't worth it.

Its a shocker. Was it a diesel? I think I'd seen that smash before. Or one like it.

The door around the pole is very interesting. Side intrusion beams are like that, mates in the fire brigade have shown me pics like that where the door beem contors to the pole and can't be bent back into shape (or even cut easily).

Don't be alarmed that the car tore in half. It happens to some of the best:

    Ferrari Enzo

    Nissan GTR

    Audi RS6

something tells me that wearing seatbelts would not have helped the occupants live!!

Dont read this as sympathy, its just like skydiving with one of thos pissy skullcaps... all its gonna do it hold the broken bits together.

Very true. Looking at the pictures it looks like a pretty decent sized road, not a suburban area (not that you can see all that much). While I'm not condoning driving like an idiot, from those photo's it could very well be a very long 4 lane wide stretch of road where those speeds are somewhat more understandable and coupled with the lack of experience and an amount of bad luck has seen things end in this way. The same end result could easily be acheived on a freeway/motorway with a light poll. (from memory that half a Ferrari is from an overpass on a freeway??)

Don't get me wrong, driving like a bat out of hell will always increase your risk and the risk of all other road users which is why we have road rules including speed limits.

When it comes to driving too fast, it's never the speed that kills you but the sudden stop at the end of it all and lets face it... they stopped pretty damn quick.
